Two for Tuesday - Week 3 & FREEBIE

It's TWO for TUESDAY!

Hi!
I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune for their Two For Tuesday Linky - Week 3

That means that
  2 items
from my store will be 50% off today!!!

Here are previews of the items I have on sale:

The Plural Noun Song Pack

Need a fun way to remind the students of certain rules that they must follow when making nouns plural? This may be the resource for you!

The Plan

I sing this original song with my students to the tune of "Jingle Bells." Who doesn't love Jingle Bells?

Later, when your students need to be reminded of a rule for making a word plural, you can just remind them of the corresponding line of the song.

Then the student will all of the sudden repeat the line in a sing-song voice which will in turn cue the rest of the class to join in as well. A spontaneous song session! What could be happier than that?

There is a preview below of all of the resources that are included. Here is the link if you would like to check it out in my store.

My other sale item:

{Even though it is summer here, it is winter elsewhere on the globe. So...for all of you bloggers who are in the midst of winter, you may like to check this out.}

Pile on the Winter Fun! Bundle

A snowman craft with activities for contractions, possessive nouns, and adjectives.
This set also includes a writing activity. What more could you want?

Two for Tuesday Linky

Hi!
I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune for their Two For Tuesday Linky.

That means that
  2 items
from my store will be 50% off today!!!

Here are previews of the items I have on sale:

The Silly Bear Hunt

Need a fun way to teach map skills WITH WRITING?

Wait...what?!

Start with a silly version of the bear hunt song with the ever-enthusiastic Dr. Jean. It is called "The Cool Bear Hunt" on her CD, "Dr. Jean Sings Silly Songs."

The Plan

Play the song and...
                             Act it out.
                                        Map it out.
                                                     Write it out...on a flap book,
                                                                           on scaffolded pages, and then
                                                                           on a "final piece" page.
                                                                    {Complete with cute bear clip art.}
These resources are in two forms:
      one for writing a narrative and
      one for writing an opinion piece.

They both include anchor charts for the transition words that we would like for our students to use.

The kids love it! Also, the lesson flows very nicely.

Below is a preview. If you would like to check it out, today is the day! Click here to see it in my store.

My other sale item:

Friendly Letter Writing Templates BUNDLE {Summer / Back-to-School Edition}

The lost art of friendly letter writing...

But wait...it is one of our standards. So, let's do this thing with style!

This bundle includes 3 sets of friendly letter writing templates for practice and for fun!

These pages have cute summer-y clipart images that are as fun to color as they are to send. Each set includes scaffolded pages with clue words to help the students to be successful. They also include pages without the scaffolding for students who are ready for the challenge of writing a letter on their own.

If you would like to check it out, today is the day! Click here to see it in my store.

{Note: I have fall and winter versions on my To Do List. For those of you in the winter months, I can speed up the process if you are interested in those now.}

Let's Talk About Books! Linky with Deanna Jump

Hi!
Today I am linking up with Deanna Jump's Let's Talk About Books! Linky.

You will not believe what I found last week whilst out of town...

The classics with beautiful binding!

Imagine the angelic choir
                                  that I heard singing,
                                                                "Aahhhh!"
                                                                                as I turned the corner
                                                                                                  and saw this plethora of beautiful books.

I probably need one of each...

Actually my first thought was that I should get one for my daughter since they are on sale and all.

(Note the blatant red sticker on the front. You know, Krista Wallden recently pointed out that if you have text that you want to stand out on the front of a project, then it should be inside a circle, for example. Voila! Here is our real-life example! How can you miss it?)

My daughter was not with me at the store, so I took a few pics to send her to see which one she might like. She has read some of them and has seen the movie versions of several of them, so how was I to know?

I DID know that she had read Frankenstein for a class in high school. And...would you believe that Frankenstein also has the beautiful binding? Undeniably, this is a good example to the "you shouldn't judge a book by its cover" lesson. (Of course it does have a drawing of a brain near the spine.)

Note that the detail of the cover design also includes the date when the piece was published. Very cool! The edges of the pages are even jagged. I loved the look of these books.

The red dot sticker is especially attractive. It adds character, don't you think?

I found these at Books A Million in Florida. I cannot seem to locate them on Amazon or BAM! online. Now I REALLY wish I had gotten at least ONE of these books!

So that is my "Talk of Books" this Tuesday. Link up with us to share a book that you like...if you like.

Hop on over to Deanna's blog to see what books are recommended this week.
