Follower Appreciation Sale Item and Worksheet Wednesday #6

Today I am continuing my Follower Appreciation Sale. Thank you to all of my followers!!

Today my 50% off item is The Silly Bear Hunt!

It is the best-selling item in my store.
My kids love it!

Also, I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune for Worksheet Wednesday

Today I am offering a friendly letter template that has clue words to jog your students' memories of the different parts of a friendly letter. It includes one of Krista Wallden's cute new Zoo Animals...a giraffe.

Isn't he adorable? This is a preview freebie of the set of "Zoo Animal" Friendly Letter Writing Templates that I will be posting by July 12th...fingers crossed! Of course, I am working on THREE different animal activities. Why do we work on a million things at once? It is a smidgen difficult to get just one of those things completely done. I would imagine that I am not alone in this. :-)
Anyway, if you would like a copy of this cute giraffe paper, please click {HERE}. If you are in the market for more friendly letter templates that are seasonal, I have a few spring sets as well as summer sets that are even in a bundle. I guess I should bundle my spring sets...

Add that to my list. I need to be thinking about setting up my room for the school year. But I love doing summery-type things. Like going to lunch with my friend today. We teachers need to fit those things in. Whilst we can.

Back to the link up...
For Week 6, there are all kinds of free Summer worksheets listed.

Hop on over to The Teaching Tribune for their linky to get some great free summertime worksheet resources!

What a great deal! Thank you team from The Teaching Tribune!

Have a great day!

Organizing with Diet Coke boxes {TBT} & FREEBIE

Hi Everybody! I'm linking up with the awesome bloggers at The Teaching Tribune for their Throwback Thursday challenge of Summer Bloggin'. See the link at the bottom of this post and hop on over!

Diet coke. Is the box the best part?

It's like waking up on Christmas morning!

Why do my students act giddy like they found an awesome present under the tree when I bring a Diet Coke box to school? Because... I offer these boxes to students to use as a drawer in their desks. It keeps them "organized!" They fit perfectly inside their desks after the top is cut off.

Actually, some of my students truly use them to organize their stuff better. Others use them to contain all of the extra markers, pencils, crayons, etc that tend to fall out of their desks. I saw it on Pinterest a while back, I think. I can't remember exactly, but where else would I have gotten a super great idea like that? I will give credit to that brilliant person when I come across it again.

As a matter of fact, my students were getting creative while waiting for the next box to come along and asked for boxes from tissues and from zip lock bags. While those were helpful, none of those boxes "did the trick" like soda boxes can. One of my students finally came around to seeing it that way. I think she will be able to find her scissors now since she doesn't actually look for them INSIDE her desk...usually. How adorable!

The positive results? Students who have better ideas about how to organize their things...although I have several boys whose things are "squared away" at any given moment. They are my expert helpers who help some of the other students get their things in order.

Another positive result, the desk fairy has more desks to admire. I made a new reward coupon for her to give the students for the new year. If you would like a copy, please click here.

Maybe this will spark some New Year's resolutions for my students!

Happy New Year! May all of your students' desks be in tip top shape for the new year! Now if the desk fairy would just come give me a hand with my own desk... :-)

Hop over to The Teaching Tribune to find out what other bloggers have to say for Week #5 of the Summer Bloggin' Link Up - Throwback Thursday.

Have a great day!

Monday Meet Up #5

It's time for the Monday Meet Up Linky with the bloggers over at The Teaching Tribune.
The "assignment" was to list three things that you are thankful for. They can be light-hearted or heart-felt. I think mine are both!!
So, here goes!

{ 1 }

The "UNDO" Button on the Computer

I am thankful for the "undo" button on our computers. Can I get an "Amen!" for that?! I say out loud OFTEN how thankful I am for that thing...even if no one can hear me.

{ 2 }

My Family

I am thankful for my husband and my daughter. My husband is ever so kind and a teacher also! I am thankful that we get to spend summers together. Also, he understands "where I am coming from." He is my voice of reason. My daughter is fun to be around because she makes me laugh...most of the time!

{ 3 }

My "Coffee"

I am also thankful for Diet Coke. I know that it is really not good for me. It is my coffee. I have cut back lots in the last year or so. As a matter of fact, the boxes come in handy too! Check back on Thursday to see my throwback post about organizing in the classroom with fridge pack boxes. You may think it is awesome too!

Disclaimer: I got the idea from Pinterest, but I have no idea to whom I should give credit. If it is you, or you know who it is, would you please let me know so that I can give that person credit for that brilliant idea? (Be your best friend...)

Hop over to the Monday Meet Up group to meet some bloggers and find out three things that they are each thankful for.

Have a great day!

Worksheet Wednesday Linkup {FREEBIE} (On Thursday)

Today I am linking up with The Teaching Tribune for Worksheet Wednesday! For Week 3, there are free ELA worksheets listed.

Here is a contraction worksheet that you might like to use. It is a sample of a larger pack, so that you can see if you could use something like that in your plans.

The graphics seem to break up the "work" so the students don't feel like they are working TOO hard. :-) It is also a great activity to add to sub plans. The students like coloring in those cute graphics as well. Click here to download it.

If you would like to check out the whole "kit and caboodle," click here.
